Albert Quixall (1933–2020) was an English footballer celebrated for his creativity and skill as an inside forward. Born in Sheffield, Quixall began his career at Sheffield Wednesday in 1951, where he quickly became a key player, showcasing flair and technique that earned him the nickname "Golden Boy." In 1958, he transferred to Manchester United for a then-record fee of £45,000, as United sought to rebuild after the Munich Air Disaster. Quixall brought vision, playmaking ability, and leadership to the squad, adding both goals and assists.

During his five years at United, he made 184 appearances and scored 56 goals, becoming a fan favorite for his flamboyant playing style and versatility. Quixall was also capped by England, earning five appearances between 1953 and 1954. After leaving United in 1964, he had brief spells with Oldham Athletic and Stockport County before retiring.

Quixall’s legacy endures as one of England’s most skillful players of his generation, remembered for his technical talent, charisma on the field, and contributions to both Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester United during pivotal eras in English football history.
