Early Career and Rise at PSV Eindhoven
Depay began his professional career at PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie, where he quickly rose to prominence as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe. Known for his direct style of play, powerful shooting, and ability to beat defenders, Depay became PSV's standout player, helping the club win the Eredivisie title in 2014–15.

Despite showing glimpses of his immense talent, Depay struggled to find consistency during his time at Old Trafford.

Key Moments at Manchester United:
Depay showed flashes of his quality early on, including a standout performance in a Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge, where he scored twice and provided an assist. Despite moments of brilliance, Depay found it difficult to adapt to the Premier League, and his form dipped as the season progressed. After the arrival of José Mourinho in 2016, Depay saw limited playing time and was eventually sold to Olympique Lyonnais in January 2017. In total, Depay made 53 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 7 goals across all competitions.

Career Revival at Olympique Lyonnais (2017–2021)
After leaving Manchester United, Depay joined Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1, where he revitalized his career. At Lyon, Depay became the focal point of the attack, consistently delivering goals and assists. His ability to play as both a winger and a center forward allowed him to thrive in France, where he enjoyed the best form of his club career.

At Lyon, Depay was named captain of Lyon, demonstrating his leadership qualities on and off the pitch. He scored over 75 goals in 178 appearances for the club, becoming one of the most dangerous attackers in Ligue 1. Depay played a key role in Lyon's impressive run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in 2019–20, where they defeated Juventus and Manchester City before losing to Bayern Munich.
In 2021, Depay signed for Barcelona on a free transfer, reuniting with his former Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman. Despite Barcelona’s financial struggles and a period of transition, Depay performed well, contributing with goals and assists during a difficult period for the club.

While at Barcelona: Depay scored 12 goals in his first season at Barcelona, becoming the team’s top scorer despite injuries and the club’s struggles. After one season, Depay was sold to Atlético Madrid as Barcelona continued to restructure their squad.

Depay has been a key player for the Netherlands national team, making over 80 appearances and scoring more than 40 goals.
